How We Actually Review A Game

May 16, 2026 · Lukas Brandt

People ask how long we play something before writing about it. There's no magic number, but the honest answer is: until we have something to say that isn't already on the store page.

For a short arcade game that might be a few hours across a week. For an RPG it can be much longer. We take notes constantly — half of them are just annoyed observations that later turn into the most useful parts of a review.

We also try to play on more than one device, because a game that hums on a new phone can stutter badly on a three-year-old one. That gap matters to real readers.

Then someone who didn't write the draft reads it and pokes holes. If a claim can't survive that, it doesn't make the page.
